Return to Your True Self
Supporting people through dark times is what gives my life meaning and purpose. It’s a huge honor to witness women emerge from confusion and pain to clarity and groundedness. So they can return to the life they want and the people that they love.
A huge part of my approach is helping you feel safe to share how you are doing right now. Sometimes for those closest to us, if we continue to share, it feels like we are burdening them. Or, for some things, it’s helpful to have an impartial third party. Not to tell you what to do, but offer reflection so you can decide what’s next.
Warm, Holistic Approach To Healing
You will find my practice is small, warm, and private. The most important part of women’s therapy for me is helping you connect with yourself on a deeper level. My goal for my clients is to help you bring substantive change into multiple areas of your life—from your relationships, to your mind, to your physical health using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
CBT is integral to women’s therapy because it helps you understand how your beliefs impact your emotions and how your emotions influence your day-to-day. Through CBT, you can gain and refine tools to enhance positivity in every aspect of your being. So you can implement them in all areas of your life, long after our your therapy is complete.
Outsmarting Anxiety and Depression
During our work, we may find that you’re grappling with anxiety or depression. Or a combination thereof. Oh, how “tricky” and vexing” depression and anxiety can be. With Depression Therapy and/or Anxiety Therapy, they’re highly treatable, often in real-time. You’ll learn the latest research and tools —- tailored to you—- to “outsmart” them. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is witnessing women emerge from depression and feel like themselves again.
My over 5 decades in this has introduced me to the work of many local resources, including primary care providers, who I collaborate with on behalf of clients whenever they need more specialized support.
It would be my honor to help you. No one should have to bear their burdens alone, and that’s why I want to help you shoulder yours.
You may have some questions about working with me…
How often do you meet with clients?
I will meet with you weekly. If there is a week when you are experiencing extra stress we can meet more often. And once you’re feeling like yourself again, it’s up to you whether you decide you are good with ending therapy on that good note or if continuing bi-weekly or monthly sessions works better for you.
When do you see clients?
I see clients Monday through Thursday starting at 8am. My last session of the day is 7pm.
Are you seeing clients in person?
Yes, I see vaccinated clients in person on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 1530 Wilson Blvd., in Arlington. Each day I’m available virtually on a HIPAA-compliant platform.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
I have a 48-hour cancellation policy.
how do I prepare for a session?
Clients who give themselves a few minutes to meditate, journal and/or stretch before and after sessions often find it helps them get the most out of our work together. Also super helpful is turning off any possible distractions, such as phones, work chats and other electronics. Find a private and really comfortable spot for your sessions — again, so you can really experience what therapy is all about.
WILL THERAPY BE COVERED BY MY INSURANCE?
I am an Out of Network provider. Several of my clients do get reimbursement, by submitting a “Superbill” which we can prepare for you. Many use Flexible Spending/Health Savings Accounts to pay for therapy.
WHAT Is the cost for therapy?
$225 per session. Each session is 50 minutes.
do you offer a free initial consultation?
I offer every potential new client a free Zoom or telephone consultation so you can get a sense of what it would be like to work with me and answer any questions that you might have.
